Handwoven sheep's wool cushion crafted on a pedal loom, following a traditional technique from Teotitlán del Valle. The geometric design is integrated directly into the weave, creating a firm and well-defined surface. In this piece, the color is achieved through first and second dye baths, utilizing the pigment in a mindful and respectful manner. Certain hues—such as the toasted ecru or sand—are derived from avocado seeds, a natural resource of limited availability that is used exclusively for delicate details. The chromatic composition reflects a conscious decision: to work with what nature provides without overexploiting its resources, allowing the scarcest tones to appear sparingly and meaningfully within the design. The result is a balanced and serene cushion, where the color, the process, and the ethics of the craft become an intrinsic part of the piece's value.
