Handwoven sheep's wool cushion crafted on a pedal loom, following a traditional technique from Teotitlán del Valle. The geometric design is integrated directly into the weave, resulting in a firm and well-defined surface. In this piece, the color is built upon a base of zapote negro, processed through multiple dye baths. Over this base, Brazilwood is applied to achieve a dark grey tone, which is then deepened through a first, second, third, and fourth dye bath. In certain sections, pericón yellow is incorporated, bringing striking contrast and warm nuances to the overall composition. The result is a composition rich in layers and depth, where the color beautifully reveals the dyeing process and the sheer complexity of the artisanal work.
