Handwoven sheep's wool cushion crafted on a pedal loom, following a traditional technique from Teotitl\u00e1n del Valle. The geometric design is built directly into the weave through color changes, creating a firm, compact, and highly defined surface.
In this piece, the cochineal dyeing process is executed with meticulous care and precision to achieve the richest possible pigment. Cochineal is a labor-intensive and highly valued natural dye; therefore, the process utilizes the pigment down to its very last dye bath, extracting its full chromatic depth.
The intense red interacts with blue-green tones and light hues, creating contrast and balance within the design. The subtle variations in color reveal the handmade craftsmanship, the natural fiber, and the richness of the living pigment.
Because we work with natural dyes, the color intensity and nuances may vary slightly depending on the harvest and the dyeing process, making each cushion truly one of a kind.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\tFlatwoven on a pedal loom. The wool is spun and pre-dyed using natural pigments, and the pattern is built directly during the weaving process\u2014without any subsequent embroidery or appliqu\u00e9s\u2014honoring the traditional textile methods of the region.\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
