ABOUT THE PIECE
Handwoven sheep's wool cushion crafted on a pedal loom, following a traditional technique from Teotitlán del Valle. The geometric design is built directly into the weave through color changes, resulting in a firm, compact, and highly defined surface.
For this piece, a specific skein of approximately 360 g of wool was dyed exclusively for this cushion. The color palette is built through successive dyeing processes: green is achieved by first using pomegranate, followed by an indigo bath; purple is born from an initial cochineal dye, also followed by an indigo bath. In certain shades, lemon juice is introduced to naturally modify and brighten the color.
The result is a composition of vibrant colors, with slight variations inherent to the handmade process, showcasing the natural fiber and the depth of the pigments. These are living colors that evolve and accompany the passage of time in the spaces they inhabit.
Because we work with natural dyes, the color intensity and nuances may vary slightly depending on the harvest and the dyeing process, making each cushion truly one of a kind.
Conceived as a functional decorative piece, this cushion brings texture, character, and an artisanal accent to contemporary or nature-inspired interiors.
Technique
Care & Longevity
Wool is a naturally resilient and durable fiber. Regular vacuuming or gently shaking the cushion is recommended.
For spot cleaning, clean only the affected area with cold water and mild soap. Avoid abrasive products and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
Note
Every cushion is one of a kind. Slight variations in color, texture, or pattern are inherent to the artisanal process and form an essential part of its value.
